Tortuga Landing Beach
(A short jungle walk from our Villas.)

The Monkey House has it's own private beach
known as Tortuga Landing. Indigenous tribes once used its rock formations
as ancient turtle traps. When the tide washed out turtles were trapped
within the circular outcropping of stones.
Biesanz Beach

Just 10 minutes down the road toward the
Parador Hotel you will find Biesanz Beach. It is named after an
American who hitchhiked from the U.S. then bought up most of the
Punta Quepos peninsula in 1968. This small, secluded bay is popular
with the locals and most weekends you'll find Tico families with
their children splashing in its calm waters. Ramon runs a small
juice stand there and will gladly slice the top off a coconut with
his machete so you can sip the sweet milk inside.
Playa Espadilla

For more social people you can walk up from
the Monkey House just past the Makanda Hotel and take the road to
the right to get to the public beach just 15 minutes away. Beach
chairs and umbrellas can be rented along with boogie boards, surfboards,
and kayaks. The north end of Espadilla is popular with surfers.
There are restaurants along the way. Several rock islands dot the
bay making it one of the most spectacular views in the world.
